Boca Raton Florida offers something for everyone. You can get outside and spend a day at the beach on Florida’s beautiful Atlantic coast, at the park, or golfing on one of the great courses in Boca. For the more adventurous, Everglades National Park is only a short drive away where you can view Florida wildlife and enjoy swamp tours. You could also spend the day at one of the many museums such as the Boca Raton Museum of Art or the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens, or check out a festival going on in town. Boca offers a variety of local restaurants, shops, boutiques and hotels for visitors and residents alike.
We spoke to a FAU alumni, here is what she had to say:
Name: Delaney Courtney
Hometown: Sarasota, FL
Why did you choose to attend FAU?
I chose to attend FAU because it was far enough away from home to get a little freedom but close enough that I could go home for weekends if I wanted. Plus, my best friend went to FAU as well.
What do you like most about FAU?
I liked FAU because it was located in a city that was very similar to my home town. I’m from a beach city and I liked that FAU was close to the beach. I also liked that FAU had a lot of activities to offer students and it wasn’t an overly crowded school either.
What do you like most about living in Boca Raton?
I liked that Boca Raton offered a lot of fun activities for younger adults. The beaches were great and there was a nightlife for underage students as well.
What do you like to do for fun/extracurricular/hobbies?
I like to do anything outside and on the water – boating, fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding. If it’s outside and on the water, I’m all about it!
Do you have any advice for incoming freshman?
My advice to incoming freshmen would be to not underestimate the effort and time that needs to be devoted to school. College course work is a lot different and more labor intensive than high school classes. Also, be wise about who you choose to associate with and remember: you are great the way you are. Don’t change for anyone but yourself!
