Why did you choose to attend UMICH?

As an incoming freshman, I wasn’t entirely sure what I wanted to study.  U of M provided me with so many opportunities to explore my interests both in and out of the classroom, and I decided that it was the best fit for me!

What do you like most about UMICH?

I really love the campus community! Ann Arbor is such an awesome place, and everyone on campus is very friendly.

What do you like most about living in Ann Arbor?

Ann Arbor in the summer time is the best place to be.  Anything that you could ever want to do, Ann Arbor has–Festivals, shopping, hiking, kayaking and most importantly eating! There is a little bit of everything and I never get bored!

What do you like to do for fun/extracurricular/hobbies?

I am very involved with a nonprofit organization known as Dance Marathon.  We raise money and awareness for kids with disabilities in our community and at the end of the year, we celebrate all of our hard work at the 24-hour Marathon!  Besides DMUM, I also enjoy yoga and eating my way around Ann Arbor!

Do you have any advice for incoming freshman?

Try everything.  I entered my freshman year thinking I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted to do, but after taking advantage of all the opportunities UMICH has to offer, I changed my mind countless times.  It’s important to keep an open mind.  You learn a lot about yourself simply by trying new things.
