The snow storm named Juno has hit the east coast with record breaking temperatures and snowfall. Most students have been given snow days and some places have even issued travel bans. If you are deciding to hunker down and stay indoors during the storm or planning to get outside for some snow-filled recreation, there are plenty of things to do on a snow day.
Binge on your favorite TV series
Any obligations you had on a snow day have now gone out the window because you literally cannot leave your house. A snow day is the perfect time to stay in your PJ’s all day, cozy up by the fire and watch your favorite show for hours on end.
Get outside
You may not want to spend too much time outdoors in the freezing temperatures, but there are plenty of things to do. You can build a snowman or snow fort, or you can have an epic snowball fight or sled races with your friends. If you live near a ski resort this might be the best powder day ever.
Throw a snow day party
Invite your friends over before the snow packs in. Make sure you have plenty of supplies such as board games, movies, food and beverages, and sleeping bags. Your gang might be in this one for the long haul.
Mix up your favorite hot drink
Coffee, Hot Toddy’s, Hot Chocolate, Hot Apple Cider, take your pick!
Read a book or catch up on work
If you were behind in any classes you can take this time to play catch up. If you are all up to speed with your classes, you can read a non-academic book or magazine for fun.
Get crafty
You can attempt to start on those DIY projects you have been planning forever, bake up your favorite cookies or other sweets, or write the thank you cards you have been putting off since Christmas.
Enjoy the SNOW!
