The Best College Towns to Live In This Summer

Some of us are stuck on campus taking summer classes, others are sticking around for an internship or a job. Staying in your college town rather than heading home for the summer can have its perks, especially if you live in a great college town.

Here is out list of the best college towns to spend your summer:

Boulder, CO

University of Colorado

Boulder is home to the CU Buffs. The highly populated city with a small town feel is the perfect place for students to spend the summer. There are plenty of parks and trails just minutes walking distance from campus. There are plenty of festivals held in Boulder over the summer, including a farmers market in the park twice a week. Boulder is also a quick drive to Denver where there are plenty of attractions such at amusement parks and museums. Denver is also home to the Colorado Rockies baseball team, and season is fill swing during the summer months.

University of South Florida

Tampa has everything you need to make your summer memorable. With the beach and the bay only a short drive from campus you can spend you free time catching rays and relaxing, or kayaking through the mangroves. You are also close to the many amusement parks that are located in Florida, such as Busch Gardens and Adventure Island. You can also float down any of the rivers that run through the state on a hot day and enjoy the crisp cold clear water.

Seattle is a bustling city on the coast and the summer season could be the best time to be there. The city is known for its usual overcast and rainy weather, but the weather clears up and the sun comes out for summer. There are multiple food, art, and music festivals, parades and races to enjoy on any given weekend. The beach front and hiking trails are only a quick drive from the city.

You can also enjoy a meal on one of the roof top bars or check out a local attraction like the Memphis Zoo or Botanical Gardens. With the hustle and bustle that Memphis has to offer, college students can’t go wrong spending their summer there.

Milwaukee is a fun town to spend your summer in. It is right on the coast of Lake Michigan with access to all things water. You can spend a day sailing, stand up paddle boarding, or just cruising around the lake in a pontoon. The city hosts countless festivals over the summer months such as the Milwaukee Highland Games, Lakefront Festival of the Arts, Bastille Days, and many more. Milwaukee is also just a short drive to Madison, another popular college town.
